- How to Enter
1.1. The Wedding Industry Professional Awards (“the WIPAs”) is organised by Wedding Industry Professional Awards (WIPA). These awards consist of a single entry or application per category or sector of the wedding industry spanning the competition period, with recognition awards offered as outlined under Award Details.
1.2. To enter the Wedding Industry Professional Awards (WIPAs) all applicants must read and understand the terms and conditions set out in this document (Terms and Conditions) and complete the on-line entry form for your chosen category or categories.
1.3. Wedding Industry Professional Awards reserves the right to alter or change these Terms and Conditions at any time at its discretion.
1.4. Any changes to these Terms and Conditions will be published within this Terms and Conditions document and published on the WIPAs website.
1.5. Any submissions made on behalf of another person or business is an acknowledgement that adequate permission has been sought and granted. No responsibility will be taken by WIPA for entries submitted without the required permission.
1.6. All submissions are to be lodged through the Wedding Industry Professional Awards website at www.wipas.com.au (Website).
1.7. By entering and/or participating in the Wedding Industry Professional Awards, participants are deemed to have read, understood and accepted the Terms & Conditions.
1.8. Entries submitted cannot be accessed or amended by entrants.
2. Entry Eligibility
2.1. Entries can be submitted by any business operating within the wedding industry in Australia.
2.2. To be eligible for the competition participants must follow the instructions on the annual entry form and any additional instructions published on the www.wipas.com.au website.
2.3. The Wedding Industry Professional Awards reserves the right in their sole discretion to:
2.3.1. request entrants to provide proof of identity and/or proof of valid entry
2.3.2. disqualify any individual or business entry who the Wedding Industry Professional Awards has reason to believe has breached any of these Terms and Conditions, or engaged in any unlawful, fraudulent, misleading, deceptive or other improper misconduct that may jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the WIPAs or otherwise bring the WIPAs into disrepute or damage the goodwill or reputation of the Wedding Industry Professional Awards.
2.4. The Wedding Industry Professional Awards reserves the right in their sole discretion to mandate the terms upon which any individual or business entry may utilise the Wedding Industry Professional Awards logo in connection with the WIPAs, including revocation of same.
2.5. Wedding Industry Professional Awards accepts no responsibility for any entries lost in transmission or not received by the closing time due to technical disruptions or any other reason beyond the control of the Wedding Industry Professional Awards.
2.6. Wedding Industry Professional Awards reserves the right to declare any entry ineligible, if at any time during or after the term of the award process your entry form is found to be incomplete, deficient, false or misleading in any way.
2.7. All entries for consideration must be lodged online and include the required information.
2.8. Your entry will be allocated to a Wedding Industry Professional Awards location or area, based on the information provided on the entry form regarding the location and postcode your business operates within and/or services and is at Wedding Industry Professional Awards’ absolute discretion.
3. Opening Dates
3.1. Key Award Dates will be published on the Website for entry opening dates.
3.2. Wedding Industry Professional Awards reserves the right to extend or vary the competition period if required, before or after the WIPAs entry period commences.
4. Closing Dates
4.1. Key Award Dates will be published on the Website for entry closing dates.
4.2. Wedding Industry Professional Awards reserves the right to extend or vary the closing period if required, before or after the WIPAs entry period closes.
4.3. Your entry must be submitted by 5pm Australian Eastern Standard time on the relevant close date for your region, as published on the Website.
4.4. Entries are accepted at the time of receipt by us.
4.5. No special consideration will be given for late entries under any circumstances including, but not limited to, network transmission failure.
4.6. Any entry fee paid will not be refunded or reimbursed if entries are not received by WIPA under any circumstances including, but not limited to, network transmission failure.
5. Intellectual Property
5.1. Upon their submission pursuant to these Terms and Conditions, entries and any or all materials submitted withing the entry become the property of Wedding Industry Professional Awards.
5.2. In submitting images, you are deemed to have permission to use those images for public display and are deemed to have granted permission for WIPA to use those images and files for announcement of awards for your business and for promotion of WIPAs.
5.3 You also assign, including by way of a present assignment, and assignment of all rights that may arise in the future, all intellectual property rights related to any and all materials that arise in relation to your participation in the Awards.
6. Confidentiality
6.1. Contact information and data provided in your entry form will not be given to any other person or agency unless authorised by the participant or required by law.
6.2. Wedding Industry Professional Awards’ Privacy Policy is deemed to be incorporated into these Terms and Conditions and by entering the Awards, you are taken to consent to Wedding Industry Professional Awards’ Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy may be replaced or varied at the discretion of Wedding Industry Professional Awards from time to time, and as replaced or varied it is incorporated into these Terms and Conditions.
7. Judging Criteria
7.1. Entries may be judged in one or more of the following ways:
7.1.1. Award submissions may be judged by a panel of subject matter experts, selected by Wedding Industry Professional Awards which may include business and community leaders including previous Winners and Category Sponsors. These judges may be drawn from current employees of the Wedding Industry Professional Awards or any of its related or controlled entities.
7.2. Judges will allocate scores to each question asked, and these scores will be multiplied by a weighting to reach an overall score for each entry.
7.3. Award submissions will be judged against other entries within the wedding industry category or sector selected by the entrant.
7.3.2. Based on feedback provided from past clients including written reviews collected from verified online sources including but not limited to Google, Facebook and other online review collection software or services.
7.3.3. Based on direct feedback from entrants past clients whose contact information has been provided within entries.
7.4. The decisions of WIPA will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
7.5. A participant can enter any number of times in any number of categories or sectors their wedding business operates within. Individual entries require separate payment and entry submissions.
8. Award Details
8.1. Awards winners will be advised by email and will be announced on the WIPA website and social media channels including but not limited to Facebook, YouTube and Instagram.
8.2. Upon entry form and payment being made, entrants will be forwarded an electronic badge acknowledging their nomination in the WIPAs. This badge and any other WIPAs digital and physical badges and prizes awarded may be used for your advertising and marketing purposes and may be utilised in, but not limited to, electronic, print and physical advertising and marketing materials.
8.3. WIPAs reserves the right to use all awards entries including images and artwork for advertising and marketing materials in the form of, but not limited to, electronic, print and physical mediums.
8.4. There will only be one overall winner per category.
8.5. Where there are two or more entries with the same highest score a countback will be conducted to determine which entrant scored higher on the most category questions.
8.6. The Judging Panel’s decision is final and no further correspondence will be entered into.
8.7. A representative of the Wedding Industry Professional Awards or the Judging Panel may contact any entrant via telephone interview or email for further information or to verify their entry prior to selecting the final preferred winner. Conducting such interviews does not create any obligation on the Wedding Industry Professional Awards or the Judging Panel to select the interviewed entrant as a winner.
